Status of Survey Responses

A survey response is one respondent’s compliance to your survey, whether the survey was completed or just partially completed. The status of survey responses can be found in the Summary tab of your survey.

The responses are being recorded in the Analyze Results section of your survey when the respondents click the following navigation buttons in the survey:

  1. Next button – when a respondent answered all the questions on the first page of the survey and clicks Next button, the responses are recorded.
  2. Done button – when a respondent completes the survey and clicks the Done button, the responses are recorded.

If respondents click Next or Done but they haven’t answered a required question or they didn’t answered a question with validation correctly, error message will be displayed and their responses will not be recorded unless they properly answer the questions and click Next or Done buttons again.

Survey Response Statuses

Each response will have one of the following statuses:

Status Description
Complete The respondent answered all the questions including required questions and questions with validation properly then clicked Done on the last page of the survey.
Partial The respondent answered at least one question and clicked Next on at least one survey page, but didn’t click Done on the last page of the survey.

Respondents with complete responses include respondents who have skipped questions that were not required.

Note: Responses statuses are not included in the exported reports, however you can the Filter by Completeness option to export reports by response status.
