Buttons for Navigation

Users can navigate through a survey using these buttons for navigation.

Available Buttons for Navigation:

Button Location Function
Exit Link Upper-right corner of every page Gives an option to respondents to leave the survey without saving the responses or without completing the survey.
Next End of each page (except last page) Moves the respondent to the next page and the responses for that page will be saved in the Analyze Results section.
Previous End of each page (except first page) Allows the respondent to go back to the previous page to review or change their responses.
Done End of the last page of the survey The survey will be submitted and the response will be saved as Complete in the Analyze Results section.

Editing the Buttons

To edit the text on navigation buttons:

  1. Go to the Design Survey tab.
  2. Click the button you want to edit.
  3. Enter the desired text.
  4. Click Save.

Show or Hide Buttons

To show or hide the Exit Link:

  1. Go to the Design Survey tab.
  2. Click Options in the left sidebar.
  3. Tick the CHECK BOX to show the Exit Link or untick the CHECK BOX to hide it.

The Previous Button

Allow or prevent respondents from changing their responses on the previous pages. This option controls whether or not the Previous button will be shown or hidden.

To show or hide the Previous button:

  1. To hide the Previous button, turn off Response Editing from the collector’s settings – don’t allow respondents to change their answers once they leave a survey page. Previous button will still appear in the survey even if you have chosen to hide it when using a preview link for collector settings are not active.
  2. To show the Previous button, turn on Response Editing from the collector’s settings – allow respondents to change their answers even if they have already completed the survey.

Translations

The default text on the buttons for navigation will automatically change corresponding to the preferred survey language.
