When a respondent take a survey, their responses are recorded whenever they click the Next button to proceed to the next page in the survey. Questions that respondents didn’t answer are marked skipped in the Analyze Results section.
Sometimes you may see in Analyze Results section that even the questions you marked as mandatory are being skipped. This can happen in several ways:
Respondent Clicked the Exit Option
If the respondent clicked the exit option and leave your survey before clicking the Done button, they may never reach some of your required questions.
Respondent Answered the Survey Before You Added the Required Question
If you are editing a live survey or you added a required questions to your survey after sent it out and started collecting responses, the respondents who have taken your survey might have missed those questions. View the time stamp of the first few individual responses to check when they have responded to your survey.
Skip Logic made the Respondents skip the Question
If there’s a skip logic in your survey design, there might be logic on a page that is directing respondents to advance to the next pages and that may be skipping respondents past required questions. In this case, the questions will appear in their individual response as skipped.
