You can control who can take your survey by using an IP restrictions & password protection options from the collector settings.
IP Restrictions
IP restrictions let you define which specific IP addresses can access your survey and which ones will be blocked. By default, IP restrictions is off, it means no IP addresses are restricted from taking your survey.
To turn on IP restrictions:
- Go to the Collect Responses tab.
- Select the collector you want to enable IP restrictions.
- Click IP Restrictions.
- Choose from the following options:
- On, block computers at specified IP addresses from taking your survey
- On, allow computers at specified IP addresses to take your survey
- Your changes will be saved automatically.
Password Protection
This option enables you to setup a password to restrict access to your survey and allows you to choose specific respondents that can take your survey. By default, Password Protection is off, it means no password is required to take your survey
To set up a password to your survey:
- Go to the Collect Responses tab.
- Select the collector you want to set up a password with.
- Click Password Protection.
- Click On, only respondents with the password may take your survey.
- Enter the desired password.
- Customize the Password Label, Submit Button Label, Password Required Message and Password Failed Error Message.
Note: We suggest adding a password to your survey if you want only a particular group of individuals to take your survey and you don’t know their IP addresses instead of using IP Restrictions.
